Peskov says Russia’s social spending to rise by 5% in 2022
MOSCOW, Oct 20 (PRIME) -- Spending from the Russian budget on the social sphere will grow by 5% in 2022, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Wednesday commenting on media reports about the social spending cuts.
"There is in fact an increase, but the thing is that some items were registered under different programs due to a reform of the state program register," Peskov said, adding that the increase of spending would amount to 5%.
He also said that one of the items transferred to a different program is scientific research, which is large.
